How to build a disciplined stock screen

A screener is most useful when it narrows the field without pretending to make the final investment decision. DeepViews lets you combine valuation, quality, and balance-sheet filters so you can move from idea generation to deeper fundamental work.

Use filters in sequence

Start broad with size or liquidity constraints, then layer valuation filters such as P/E or EV/EBITDA, and finish with quality signals like ROE, margins, or debt ratios.

This sequence reduces false positives. If you begin with very tight valuation filters, you often surface unstable businesses that only look cheap because earnings quality is deteriorating.

Validate every screen result

After screening, open the company page, DCF page, and peer comparison page for the surviving names. A good screen should generate candidates, not conclusions.

The strongest workflow is: screen for candidates, compare them against direct peers, then pressure-test valuation assumptions with DCF and WACC.
